Run For Your Wife

The Kent County Theatre Guild is bringing fast-paced comedy to Dover this September with Run for Your Wife, Ray Cooney’s classic British farce about an ordinary taxi driver with a decidedly extraordinary secret. John Smith has managed to maintain two separate lives—and two wives—in different parts of London, carefully keeping each unaware of the other. But when an unexpected turn of events threatens to expose his double life, John’s increasingly desperate attempts to explain himself send the story spiraling into a hilarious series of misunderstandings, cover-ups, and comic complications. The production marks the KCTG directing debut of Len Hedges-Goettl and also welcomes several cast and crew members making their first appearances with the Guild.
Run for Your Wife opens Friday, September 11, and continues for three weekends, with evening performances September 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, and 26 at 7:30 p.m. and a Sunday matinee September 20 at 2 p.m.
For more than seven decades, the Kent County Theatre Guild has helped make live theater an integral part of the cultural life of central Delaware. Founded in 1953 after a group of local theater enthusiasts gathered to explore creating a community theater in Kent County, the all-volunteer organization has grown into a longstanding home for performers, directors, designers, technicians, and audiences. The Guild’s mission is to give everyone an opportunity to participate in live theater—whether on stage, backstage, behind the scenes, or in the audience—and its productions are presented at the intimate 90-seat Patchwork Playhouse at 140 E. Roosevelt Avenue in Dover. Operated entirely by volunteers, KCTG continues to provide opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to experience, learn about, and participate in community theater.

Cancer Support Community Delaware
Making Space for Healing

Cancer Support Community Delaware is expanding opportunities for creativity, reflection, and connection through Making Space for Healing, a year-round series of healthy lifestyle classes. Offered at no cost to cancer patients, caregivers, and families, the program includes monthly in-person expressive arts classes, a weekly in-person and/or virtual Poetry of Wellness class, monthly virtual Sound Meditation sessions, and two additional in-person Sound Meditation classes each month. Programming is available through Cancer Support Community Delaware facilities and outreach locations in New Castle, Kent, and Sussex Counties, with in-person, hybrid, and virtual options helping ensure participants throughout the state can take part.
For more than 30 years, Cancer Support Community Delaware has worked to ensure that people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community. The statewide nonprofit provides professionally led support groups, educational opportunities, and wellness programs at no cost to participants, caregivers, and loved ones as they navigate the emotional and life-changing effects of cancer. Through programs like Making Space for Healing, the organization creates opportunities for participants to connect with others who understand their experiences while addressing emotional well-being alongside other aspects of care. Participant feedback reflects that impact, with individuals describing the programs as sources of support, validation, connection, and opportunities to care for the “entire person—body, mind and spirit.”

West Side Creative Market

Developing Artist Collaboration brings artists and audiences together through the West Side Creative Market, a lively outdoor gathering in West Rehoboth Beach that combines visual art, live music, food, and community. Each market features more than 20 local artists selling handmade work ranging from ceramics and paintings to jewelry and textiles, alongside live entertainment, rotating food vendors, and creative activities. More than a traditional arts market, the program gives artists direct access to customers, collectors, and new professional opportunities while creating an accessible place for residents and visitors to experience Delaware’s creative community. The Market serves more than 130 artists each season and has generated more than $1.3 million in artist sales. Following its regular Monday and Friday summer schedule, the 2026 season continues with Saturday markets on September 12, 19, and 26, as well as a special Sea Witch® Creative Market on October 24. Admission is free.
Developing Artist Collaboration, or DAC, was created by artists with a focus on helping other artists build sustainable creative lives. What began as a grassroots collaboration has grown into a creative ecosystem offering markets, exhibitions, professional development opportunities, and other programs designed to strengthen connections between artists and their communities. DAC reports supporting more than 1,200 artists through its programs and engaging more than 135,000 community members, while its broader artist opportunities have generated millions of dollars in direct artist sales. The West Side Creative Market reflects that mission in action: what began as an empty parking lot and an idea for a consistent place where artists could show and sell their work has developed into a major creative gathering place in coastal Delaware—one where artists can earn income, develop audiences, build relationships, and grow their creative businesses.
