FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CSN’S THEATRE PROGRAM’S SECOND STAGE PRESENTS: A NIGHT AT DADA
October 5 2026

CSN’S FINE ARTS THEATRE AA PROGRAM’S SECOND STAGE PRESENTS:
A NIGHT AT DADA
AN ORIGINAL PRODUCTION BY
CHANDLER JAMES AND LIAM RAMOS
PREMIERING OCTOBER 14, 2026 IN THE BACKSTAGE THEATRE
The world makes no sense anymore; we all know that. So, embrace the nonsense by spending a night at Dada!
A Night At Dada is an educational soirée hosted by the College of Southern Nevada’s Fine Arts Theatre AA Program’s Second Stage (otherwise known as CSN Second Stage) centering around three plays of the early nineteenth century Dada movement: The First Celestial Adventure of Mr. Antipyrine, Fire Extinguisher by Tristan Tzara as translated by Ruth Wilson, The Mute Canary by George Ribemont-Dessaignes as translated by Victoria Nes Kirby, and Handkerchief of Clouds: A Tragedy in Fifteen Acts by Tristan Tzara as translated by Aileen Robbins. Interlaced with each production, brief lectures will be carried out by the actors on the historical context of each three plays as well as the rise and fall of the Dada movement.
A theatrical manifesto of embracing the nonsense of reality.
An in-yer-face depiction of violence within the patriarchy.
A group of commentators overanalyzing the production to death.
Each play was carefully chosen to commentate on modern understandings of art, politics, and gender through whimsical satirization contrasted by visceral depictions of taboo topics. After all, theatre is made for audience reactions, and there will be an opportunity for the audience to let out their woes at the end if they dare.
Be confused! Be upset! After all, the world’s just a whole lot of dada.
A Night At Dada opens at CSN’s Backstage Theatre on Wednesday, October 14th, at 7:00 P.M., with additional performances scheduled on October 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th at 7:00 P.M. and a matinee performance on October 17th at 2:30 P.M.
